I would certainly think about donating an amount for to see Solaris for phpBB3. I have used the theme for phpbb2, but unfortunately it was the only thing I miss now I've moved the forum over to phpBB3. It is a fantastic template. If enough wasn't raised it would be nice to see released under a CC licence, but like you say, the two aren't mutually exclusive, both a paid and a CC release of the files would be marvellous.
