All my styles will be upgraded for phpBB 3
Update: I have been forced to reconsider this decision, please see this post for more information.
I have been very busy recently as work and personal commitments have taken precedence which is why updates have been lacking. However due to the recent announcement about the first phpBB3 beta release I thought I should issue some kind of statement regarding what I'll do about my styles. They will all be upgraded, and it will be done in order of popularity, meaning Solaris will be the first style to be upgraded.
The upgrading comprises more than just recoding since existing styles will need to be remade to work with phpBB3 and to support its richer feature set. I already have mockups and graphics for the next generation of most of my styles designed and ready. Upgrading the styles will mean coding them with modern methods, in geek talk that is standards-compliancy, semantic markup and stylesheets.
I will also strive to make the styles as modular and easy to adapt as possible, I am hoping to be able to use a standardized CSS library for this. I am currently using one developed by a local firm here in Sweden to which I am contracted to create themes for a popular content management system (I'll tell you more about this soon!). While this library is far from complete, it's lightweight, optimized and generic and can be used for any site layout, forum or other.
More information will be posted soon this web design summer. I have many projects on the table and many ideas for articles so stay posted, or subscribe to the RSS feed, to make sure you don't miss out on anything!
