Personal

I love web design, usability and human-computer interaction, it's what I work with mostly. It's fun and challenging, it's an ever changing field, new things happen every week and you always got to stay tuned to keep up with everything new. It's quite a privilege to be able to work with the same kind of things that stir your imagination. With a background in cognitive science and computer science, I have ample opportunity to apply theory in practice.

Besides the Internet and everything related to that, I'm a fan of all sorts of fiction, fantasy and science fiction. I enjoy movies, and I play computer games from time to time. I prefer games with a cinematic feel where you get to experience another world or time.

I also enjoy old school pen-and-paper roleplaying games or a game of poker in the company of friends, I seem to either have a knack for it or more likely I am just blessed with luck. I also do photography, I love traveling, speaking and learning about languages and other cultures and I enjoy food as well as cooking when I have time. I enjoy skiing and snowboarding, and in the summers I try to do some sailing or at least ride in a motorboat or go hiking in the mountains.

Software and Hardware

In my creative work I primarily use Eclipse and Aptana (PHP, JS, CSS, XHTML) and Fireworks for graphics. The geeky people might want to learn more about my hardware, it's a pretty decent machine that does the job when I'm home, I carry around an Apple MacBook while on the go. Current hardware is a Abit NF7-S motherboard, AMD Athlon64 3000, 1024 MB of DDR RAM, 440 GB HD, ATI Radeon X1950Pro 512 MB (primary 19" monitor), a Wacom Graphire tablet, a Logitech FlatX keyboard, a Logitech MouseMan Wheel Optical (a very nice mouse that I've used for over six years) and a Creative SoundBlaster Live! Platinum soundcard (used mostly to listen to music while I work).
