720 Student Ski Club
The 720 student ski club arranges parties and trips, to Sweden and abroad, and works to make more people interested in alpine spots such as skiing and snowboarding. 720's goal is to let students enjoy skiing in a cheap and fun way.
I traveled with 720 to the French Alps in April and when they later requested help building a new website I decided to help them. I had a great time going with them and this was a way for me to help in turn, contributing, giving something back. Designing and develop the new site was an interesting task, and gave me a chance to set up a Drupal site that was easy to use even for those without in-depth knowledge of content management systems.
The new website is a replacement for their old site which was coded in ASP and maintained by their former webmaster, and without no one knowing how to maintain it there was clearly a need for a new site that was easier to maintain and sported a new, bright design. The website is powered by the flexible and powerful Drupal CMS which offers an intuitive interface for keeping content up to date. The Drupal CMS allows 720 to extend and modify the website to accomodate a wide range of requirements, such as automating registration for trips and parties and providing online community services such as mailing lists, scheduling of events and discussion forums.
