KVIT2006
KVIT is an annual symposium on cognitive science held here in the city of Linkping. Every year we at the Program of Cognitive Science at the University of Linkping present new talks by leading researchers from Sweden and abroad working in the field of cognitive science and related sciences. Over the years topics as diverse as gender studies, natural language, the role of semiotics (meaning) in thinking, cognition of babies, robot design, AI, usability engineering and the neurological origins of consciousness have been covered by speakers.
The website is the main place people go for information on the event and to register, as such it serves as an electronic brochure.
The site was designed to match the poster designed by another student here, doing so I also extended the design and developed the concept of the breaking water and the wave using it as a border around the various page elements and containers for navigation and primary content. The symposium has been highly appreciated and praised ever since its inception fourteen years ago. Learning about the latest developments in this ever-changing frontier of science is always fun and interesting. Cognitive science is something many people seem interested in but few know about and it encompasses such future-focused fields as artificial intelligence, robotics and usability/interaction design.
