Ultimate Rally Official Forums
The UR however is about more than just supercars and daredevilish roadstunts, it's an experience and lots of people have signed up just to be support staff, being part of it and the atmosphere. It's all rounded off with a huge party, hosted by Kim Schmitz, the creator of the UR.
Kim contacted me personally to design the forums for the UR website, he had a vision and an idea and the forums were an integral part of it. The UR is about its community and its members, their ideas and visions. The UR forums are a place where people with not as deep pockets as the competitors can take part in the UR and meet the drivers themselves, an area open for everyone interested in the UR.
Designing the UR forums proved to be a challenge, since not only was a template needed but also a total customization of the phpBB forum software, including several MODs such as gallery, profile photos, chatroom and subscriptions. The result however was more than we'd hoped for and the UR forum community embraced it, another example of how a distinctly designed forum can build a stronger community identity.
